Learn why the bulk laser-induced damage threshold (LIDT) of glass is significantly different than the LIDT optical components with coatings, such as AR thin films.
Glass Cutting with Cailabs Canunda Reflective Axicons
Watch how LZH uses the Cailabs Canunda Reflective Axicons to improve the efficiency and quality of glass cutting by generating high-power Bessel beams.
Meta description: Ideal for volume applications, including laser diode collimation, bar code scanners, and optical data storage. Can be molded into diameters as small as 1mm.
I recently removed the IR cut filter from my camera and did not replace it with any type of clear glass. It has since lost sensitivity in the IR, which was the goal, but also focus ability in the optics. Can you explain why this is so?
Edmund Optics® utilizes a wide range of CNC machining equipment including ultrasonic machining and high speed cutting (HSC) technology from DMG MORI® for the machining of complex optical component geometries.
With over 65 optical glass types readily available at manufacturing sites, EO enables quick prototyping. View the full list of glass types at Edmund Optics.
I would like to view the side profile of a 140μm diameter glass fiber under a microscope. I am having some difficulty resolving the fiber’s border, is there any special lighting technique to use?
